MINUTES:  There were not any minutes from the June 16 joint meeting of the West Galveston Island Property Owners Association and the City of Jamaica Beach on Hurricane Preparedness and Recovery at the Jamaica Beach Public Service Building, but prior to the joint meeting the Board of Directors met with District 6 City Council Member, Jackie Cole, and the notes from the meeting are on our website, www.wgipoa.com.

MEETING:  The next meeting will be Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the Galveston Country Club, 14228 Stewart Road , starting at 8:30 AM with breakfast burritos and the meeting starting at 9:00 AM.

PROGRAM:  The West Galveston Island Property Owners Association is pleased to have Galveston City Manager, Brian Maxwell, as our guest speaker.  Brian will discuss the “State of Galveston”.  As you drive around the island, you can see the progress the City is making with streets, traffic, and a score of improvements.  If you missed the “State of the City” presentation on June 12 at Galveston College with the Mayor and City Manager, you definitely will want to attend and hear the updates on all the great projects and services going on in Galveston.

Upcoming Events:

Americana at its Best: Every Tuesday beginning June 5th-August 21th, from 7 to 9pm, the Galveston Beach Band will perform a free family-friendly concert opposite Rosenberg Library, 2310 Sealy St., Downtown Galveston.  Also, there will be a concert on Sunday, July 3rd to celebrate the holiday! This 24-member band is a favorite for all ages directed by Frank Incaprera, who has led the band for almost 50 years.
