Hurricane Meeting 6/15/19

MINUTES:  The minutes of the May 18, 2019, meeting is on our website.

MEETING:  The next meeting will be Saturday, June 15. This is our annual and joint meeting with the City of Jamaica Beach for “Hurricane Planning, Evacuation, & Recovery”.  Hurricane season began June 1 and ends November 30 and the Weather Channel is predicting a total of 14 named storms with 7 being hurricanes and 3 of them being a Category 3 or higher.  It’s been 11 years since Ike devastated Galveston and West Galveston Island so we should not rest on our laurels and become defensive.  Come to the joint meeting that the West Galveston Island Property Owners Association has each year with the City of Jamaica Beach at their public service building on FM 3005.  Booths open at 9:45 AM and the meeting begins at 10:00 AM.  Food and refreshments will be served at the end of the meeting.

We have great presentations as you can see from the attached agenda.

We are in our 20th year as an organization and we thank our members and corporate sponsors for all their support over the years.
