MEETING:  The next WGIPOA meeting will be an in person meeting on February 19 at the Galveston Country Club with a full breakfast starting at 8:30 AM and the meeting beginning at 9:00 AM. Please Click Here for the agenda.

We are pleased to have Joel Clarke from TexDot to give an update on the FM 3005 road construction.  In addition we’ll hear from Lt. Joel Caldwell of the Galveston Police Department on animal control for the west end especially the roaming coyotes.  We’ll also hear from District 6 City Council Member Marie Robb as well as Sally Bakko – Director of Policy and Governmental Relations for the City.  An agenda will be forthcoming.

In addition we are setting up a food drive for the Galveston County Food Bank (GCFB) and we are requesting attendees to please bring a few items for donation. We will have a donation table and the GCFB will be onsite to collect the donated items.  WGIPOA Board Member Craig Vance will coordinate the effort and the items accepted are:

• Canned Foods: tomatoes, sauce, meat, tuna, soup, fruit, veggies, peanut butter, jelly
• Meal-in-a-can: chili, stew, ravioli
• Meal-in-a-box: burger/tuna helper, mac-n-cheese, etc
• Packaged: pasta, cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix, rice, beans
• Hygiene: shampoo, toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, etc.
