MEETING:  The next meeting, June 18, will be the annual West Galveston Island Property Owners Association joint meeting with the City of Jamaica Beach on Hurricane Preparedness and Recovery at the Jamaica Beach Public Service Building located at 16629 San Luis Pass Road, with booths opening at 9:45 AM and the meeting starting at 10:00 AM and ending at Noon followed by refreshments and food.  

PROGRAM:   June 1 usually begins the hurricane season and the experts predict again a busy Atlantic storm season with NOAA predicting above normal 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season forecasting a likely range of 14 to 21 named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher), of which 6 to 10 could become hurricanes with winds 74 mph or higher.

We have a great meeting planned in preparing for a hurricane and how to recover and please click here to see the attached agenda.  We have been having joint meetings with the City of Jamaica Beach for over 20 years with key speakers in their fields to deal with major storm events so come and hear and learn from the presentations.
