MEETING: The next meeting will be Saturday, February 23, at the Galveston Country Club, 14228 Stewart Road , starting at 8:30 AM and the meeting starting at 9:00 AM. Please note this will be a full breakfast starting at 8:30 AM so come hungry!
The meeting will be our annual meeting with election of board members and officers. March 1, 2019, will be the start of our 20th year as an organization and we thank our members and corporate sponsors for all their support over the years.
PROGRAM: The West Galveston Island Property Owners Association is pleased to have again Dr. Bill Merrell from Texas A&M University here on Galveston Island to give an update on his proposed “Ike Dike” concept, which several organizations and the U.S. Army Corp are adopting as the surge storm system to basically protect the Houston ship channel.
NOTE: The Management of the Galveston Country Club has established new parking procedures for meetings on Saturday morning. The main front parking lot will be reserved exclusively for golfers and all other parking will be on the side next to the pool, in back next to the bay, and behind the club house where the entrance is the back door. There will be parking attendants to direct you. If it is raining, the golfers parking lot will be available.
