2019 Meetings – usually 3rd Saturday of the month but due to travel schedule and conflicts some meetings will be the fourth Saturday.  There will be 10 meetings – seven will be at the Country Club and three at the Courtyard by Marriott. The Marriott meetings are identified with **.

Note:  When at the Country Club the Club General Manager requests for all WGIPOA meetings not to park in main area but on side or in the back due to golfer complaints.  There will be guides to direct cars. Door in the back leads right into meeting area.

The following meetings, presenters, and dates are now confirmed.  Please review and let me know of any issues or concerns or recommendations.  This is basically the list we recommended at the 12/15/18 Board meeting at the Country Club.

February 23 – “Ike Dike” Dr. Bill Merrell

March 16 (J Mohn will be traveling) – Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council (GINTC) (Julie Ann Brown) and the Galveston Parks Board (beach cleaning) (Kelly DeShaun). This is our annual meeting with election of Board Members and officers.  In addition, March will be the WGIPOA 20th year as an organization.

April 20** – County Tax Assessor/Collector Cheryl Johnson

May 18** – Flood Insurance – Galveston Island Insurance Associates (Michael Ruiz) and Realtors (Sand ‘N Sea, ReMax, Better Homes & Garden Real Estate Gary Greene)

June 15 (Hurricane Preparedness Meeting Jamaica Beach).  Meet with Jackie Cole before

July 27 – Galveston Bay Foundation (Genevieve Genest and Bob Stokes) and Turtle Restoration Network (Joanie Steinhaus)

August 17 – Police Chief Vernon Hale and Captain Mike Wisko Galveston Fire Dept

September 28 – CenterPoint Energy (Keith Gray) and Bryan Museum (J.P. Bryan)
